AUTHOR(S): Consolacion Y. Ragasa * and Agnes B. Alimboyoguen
ABSTRACT:Allamanda neriifolia Hook, locally known as yellow bell is an ornamental plant that grows throughout the country. This study was conducted as part of our research on the chemical constituents of Philippine plants. A mixture of four long chain 4-hydroxycinnamate esters (1a-1d) was obtained from the dichloromethane extract of the air-dried flowers of Allamanda neriifolia Hook. The structures of 1a-1d were elucidated by extensive one-dimensional and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
